QBE “Shark Shootout” Tees Off Dec. 11-13

NAPLES, Florida – Tournament host Greg Norman has announced the 24 players set to compete in the 2020 QBE Shootout. The tournament will be held December 9 – 13 and will celebrate its 20th year at Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.

This year’s field will feature 15 of the top 50 ranked players in the world including world #13 and U.S. Open runner-up Matthew Wolff, #14 Daniel Berger, #17 Tony Finau and #18 Louis Oosthuizen.

Nine players competing for the Shootout’s $3.6 million purse combined to win 10 times during the 2019/2020 PGA TOUR season. Brendon Todd secured back-to-back victories last fall while Berger, Cameron Champ, Lanto Griffin, Sungjae Im, Marc Leishman, Sebastian Munoz, Joaquin Niemann and Cameron Smith each won once.

The 2020 QBE Shootout at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples will be held without spectators, however the action will be covered LIVE by Golf Channel and NBC TV Dec 11-13.

Several QBE Shootout veterans are set to return including two-time Masters Champion Bubba Watson, who will be making his 4th consecutive and 6th appearance overall, Billy Horschel playing for the 8th straight year, Ryan Palmer competing for the 3rd time and Harold Varner III, who will be making this 3rd straight appearance in Naples. In addition, past Shootout champions Harris English, Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker and Sean O’Hair will join defending champions Rory Sabbatini and Kevin Tway.

Nine players will be competing in the Shootout for the first time, including world #21 Abraham Ancer, Griffin, Mackenzie Hughes, Im, Leishman, Munoz, Niemann, Oosthuizen, and Smith.

One of Naples, Florida premier private courses – Tiburon Golf Club – will host the QBE Shootout for the 20th consecutive year.

Golf Channel will broadcast Friday December 11 first round competition live from 1:00-4:00 p.m. ET. Over the weekend, the final two rounds will feature live coverage on both Golf Channel and NBC TV.

The QBE Shootout will once again feature a scramble format during the first round, a modified alternate shot format on Saturday and a final-round better ball on Sunday.
