The Best Courses You Can Play in New England

Okay resident golf aficionados – and visitors too – you asked for it. You participated. And now it’s time for the big unveiling.

Starting on August 30th, right through the Labor Day weekend, we will be rolling out the The Best Golf Courses You Can Play in New England, state by state.

The picks were a collaborative effort amongst NewEngland.Golf staff and readers.

We proudly state that these are, in fact, ‘The Best You Can Play’ in each of the six states of New England. And, man, are there some good tracts on the lists.

From the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire to the coasts of Maine and Cape Cod, the diversity of this region’s public courses is unrivaled. They are dissimilar and quite majestic. No cookie cutters need apply.

While we stand by these picks, we realize that not everyone will be in agreement. Heck, we recognize that a majority may object. But there’s nothing wrong with a little debate and diversity of opinion.

What was the criteria? All courses appearing in New England.Golf’s Best You Can Play had to meet two very simple standards: They had to be regulation 18 holes and they had to be accessible to the public. That’s it.
