Updated 2019: A look down the list of our Top 10 Courses You Can Play in Massachusetts will show ten exceptional golf courses, any of which could be number one depending on your preference or interest.

Many have completed recent renovations such as The Crumpin’ Fox Club in Western Mass, and Bayberry Hills on the Cape. These changes deliver almost a new course feel, allowing golfers to play these gems for the first time… again!

Half of the golf courses in our top ten were designed after the turn of the century and offer modern golf course architecture with large greens, wide fairways and impeccable conditions.

The newest on the list is Granite Links, which teed off in 2004 – right at the tail end of the golf course explosion. The oldest is the always-magnificent Crumpin’ Fox, which opened in 1979.

Pinehills Golf Club is the lone 36-hole facility on our list. Its two championship courses – the Nicklaus and the Jones – both offer exceptional golf experiences.

The much-improved Bayberry Hills and the incomparable Granite Links each deliver 27 holes of three stand-alone nines.

Two Brian Silva classics, Red Tail and Shaker Hills, are just three miles apart, and offer Nashoba Valley golfers 36 holes of majestic golf.

Blackstone National in Sutton is the premier golf course in Central Mass. The Rees Jones gem is turning into the complete package now that they’ve added an expansive deck overlooking the course. It is the place for outdoor dining.

Looking for a memorable golf weekend? Try pairing a round at Blackstone with 18 at the always-impressive Highfields in Grafton, just 10 miles down the road.

In addition to splendid golf, many of the ten offer superb wedding packages, as more and more clubs are diversifying their services.
