FORT MYERS, Florida – Nelly Korda has claimed the points-based LPGA Rolex Player of the Year Award to edge ever closer to qualifying for the LPGA Hall of Fame.
The 28-year-old American has enjoyed a successful year on the circuit earning four wins in her 15 starts this season including major triumphs at The Chevron Championship in April and the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally in June and receives the award with three events still remaining on the 2026 schedule.
Korda’s best results performances came early in the season, when she embarked on a run of six consecutive tournaments in which she either claimed victory or finished runner-up, establishing a commanding advantage in the points standings.
The World No. 1 tops the points race with 239 points, holding a 63-point advantage over fellow double major winner Haeran Ryu. With Ryu withdrawing from last week’s Maybank Championship and third-placed Jeeno Thitikul opting not to compete at next week’s The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, Korda can’t be caught.
She has previously picked up the award in 2024 meaning she now becomes the only player to have clinched the award on two occasion in the last decade.
It also leaves Korda just one victory away from securing her place in the LPGA Hall of Fame. Players must accumulate 27 points to qualify for induction, with major championship victories worth two points and regular LPGA Tour wins earning one. Having received the 2026 Player of the Year award, Korda now has 26 points, meaning another victory would see her join the exclusive club.
Korda will be presented with the award at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida on 17 November.
