BEDMINSTER, New Jersey – LIV Golf returns to the United States to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, August 6–9, marking the league’s third trip to the metropolitan New York area and its first appearance since 2023. This is tournament number 11 of 13 on the 2026 world tour schedule. Only two remain at The Club at Chatham Hills, Indianapolis, Indiana, August 20-23 and the grand finale Team Championship Michigan at The Cardinal at Saint John’s in Plymouth, Michigan, August 27-30.
Last week at LIV Golf United Kingdom the event produced four days of record-shattering golf, dramatic team showdowns, and electric summer festival energy at JCB Golf & Country Club in Staffordshire. Fresh off a record-equalling round at The Open Championship, Lucas Herbert put on one of the most dominant displays in LIV Golf history. Firing an extraordinary 30-under 62 on Sunday, the Australian closed out a wire-to-wire, six-shot victory to claim his first LIV Golf individual title.

The total purse for the Trump National Bedminster event is $30,000,000 with winner cashing $4 million check. The format is four days of action with simultaneous individual and team leaderboards and trademark shotgun starts. The Tom Fazio-designed par 72 course is always in magnificent shape with bold bunkering and tough water hazards on the closing stretch. Cameron Smith won the individual title during the league’s last visit to Bedminster in 2023. Coming into the final stretch of the 2026 season, players look to lock in vital points for the individual standings before heading to Indianapolis August 20.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil faces a crucial milestone at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster working to secure new capital, pitch a “LIV 2.0” restructuring plan, and stabilize the league since Saudi funding has dried up after this season. LIV Golf fans will be listening closely when CEO Scott O’Neil addresses the media to discuss the league’s new direction and potential new ownership.

Speculation about who might purchase LIV Golf is all over the place. The mainstream golf media has already erroneously declared LIV Golf dead on arrival. Pro Golf Weekly was first to report several well-funded groups are waiting in the wings to buy LIV Golf for about $200 – $300 million. Among the prospective buyers is a group led by Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, and his brother Joshua Kushner. Jared Kushner is not a potential buyer of LIV Golf, but his private equity firm, Affinity Partners, recently received a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)—the same sovereign wealth fund that directly finances LIV Golf.
According to the New York Times Trump National Bedminster remains owned by the Trump Organization, and LIV Golf remains backed by Saudi Arabia’s PIF for a few more months, with no ownership transfer yet to the Kushner family. The Trump Organization owns Trump Golf, https://www.trumpgolf.com, a global luxury portfolio of championship golf properties, featuring prominent destinations like Trump National Washington D.C., and Trump International West Palm Beach and Trump Turnberry in Scotland. It was founded in 1999 and encompasses 20 world-class golf properties offering high-end club amenities and hosting major professional tournaments.

LIV Golf is back in the New York region this week, after a two-year absence, and the league brings its signature blend of elite competition, premium hospitality, and immersive fan experiences to the tri-state area, reaffirming its presence in one of the sport’s most important markets.

Golf fans will surely follow the action both on and off the course since LIV Golf is a never-ending conversation with strongly divided opinions from followers of the sport.
