Jeff Martin & Joe Gilmore Win 2019 NEPGA Pro-Officer Championship

Joe Gilmore (l) and Wollaston Golf Club head pro Jeff Martin teamed up to fire nines of 32-35-67, 5-under par total, at Kirkbrae Country Club on August 29 to win the New England PGA Pro-Officer Championship.

LINCOLN, Rhode Island – Jeff Martin, of Wollaston Golf Club and Joe Gilmore teamed up to shoot 5-under par 67 to win the New England PGA Pro-Officer Championship on August 29 at Kirkbrae Country Club. Teams in the best-ball competition were comprised of one NEPGA Professional and one Officer from their facility.

The pair made four birdies without a bogey in a front-9 32 and played the back nine one-under par to post 67 and pick up a one-shot victory.

Martin and Gilmore edged John Dalrymple, of Rockland Golf Club and Jay Miller, who posted a 4-under 68, by one.

Craig Coombes, of Braintree Municipal and Joe Kearney posted a net 9-under 63 to take top honors in the net division, edging Martin and Gilmore by a stroke. Rick Finlayson, of Franklin Golf Club and Jeff Gray tied for third in the net division with John Rainone, of North Kingstown Golf Club and Bill Alves.

Martin, who shot 3-under par 69 on his own ball, also claimed the top spot in the individual professional division, and was the only individual under par for the day. Dalrymple finished second after shooting even-par 72 while Rainone and Peter Walsh tied for third at 1-over 73.

The New England PGA thanks Kirkbrae Country Club and head PGA Professional Mike Bradshaw, who opened the doors to his facility to accommodate the Pro-Officer Championship after the event was originally rained out earlier this year.
