LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic – Casa de Campo Resort and Villas will celebrate its 50th Anniversary as one of the leading vacation and golf destinations in the Caribbean from October 24-27.
The festivities will include two Grammy-award-winning concerts in its famed Altos de Chavon Amphitheater, a concert party and fireworks extravaganza at the private Minitas Beach Club, and a $50,000 “Hole-in-One Competition” both on the iconic Teeth of the Dog, the No. 1 course in the Caribbean, and on Dye Fore, Pete’s other masterpiece along the Chavon River.
$50,000 Ace
All celebrants with tee times on the 25th and 26th will have a chance for the $50 Grand on either the Teeth of the Dog’s famous seaside 16th, which will play anywhere from 183 to 120 yards on the six set of tees, or the 12th on the Dye Fore Chavon, an uphill challenge from 232-140 yards with the cliff and the river on the right.
The anniversary event will also be a farewell salute to Teeth, which will be undergoing an extensive “regeneration” beginning in mid-January. Always a stalwart member of the World’s Top 100 Courses, Teeth will be closed until November 2025 for a complete regressing, a relandscaping of greens to original sizes, and a reshaping and expansion of greenside bunkers. The 27-hole Dye Fore and The Links will operate during the Teeth’s hiatus.
Golden Anniversary Package
The weekend will also be accompanied by Casa de Campo’s “Golden Anniversary Package,” a promotion that will be available through the end of 2025. The four-day, three-night special overture emphasizes the luxury accommodations in the resort’s new Premier Suites at The Premier Club. In addition and most appropriately, the number 50 will take precedence for further guest amenities: a 50-minute treatment at the only “Forbes 4-Star” spa in the Dominican Republic, a 50-minute golf lesson at the Golf Learning Center, a 50-minute tennis, pickleball, or padel lesson at the Racquet Center, a 50-minute horseback riding lesson, a 50-cartridge sporting clay session, and a 50th-anniversary limited edition gift bag.
Rates begin at $750 per day, per guest, double occupancy. To book your spot and to learn more about the weekend and the Golden Anniversary Package, visit: https://www.casadecampo.com.do/events/50th-anniversary-kickoff-weekend/.
Jayson Kycek, chief marketing officer, said, “Five decades of being recognized as the leading golf destination in the Caribbean is something we do not take for granted, and we are humbled to celebrate our illustrious history. We look forward to cherishing this moment over the next year and creating an even better experience for travelers from around the world for the next 50 years as well.”
Accommodations
Casa de Campo additionally offers an array of fully appointed villas perfect for golf groups and families. The villa options range from three to 11 bedrooms with stylish living areas, a private pool, and many more creature comforts. From secluded Garden Villas that boast the area’s abundant flora to the tranquil splendor of the Caribbean coast in an Oceanfront Villa, each style offers contemporary designs. Daily breakfast, private maid service, and full access to a wide range of on-site activities are additional benefits of villa stays. Non-golfer packages are also available.
The resort’s Golf Learning Center is notable for its Trackman and BODITRAK technology. It also features two indoor hitting bays, year-round training, individual and group golf lessons and schools, and expert club-fitting and repair. Residing on 21 acres of “pure grass,” the PGA Tour-quality facility also showcases both an outdoor range for full shots and practice greens for honing putting, chipping, and pitching skills. On-course instruction is also available.
For those unfamiliar with Casa de Campo and its Pete Dye-designed 63 holes, the 7,000-acre resort, much of which is contiguous to the Caribbean Sea, attracts affluent travelers from around the world. Expertly prepared cuisine, a 370-slip Marina & Yacht Club, Polo & Equestrian Club, the La Terraza Tennis Center, 245-acre Shooting Club, Minitas Beach Club, and Altos de Chavon–an artisan’s village modeled after a 16th century Mediterranean city–are other on-property highlights.
Getting There: A short drive from the resort, Punta Cana (PUJ) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) operate daily, direct flights from many major North American airports. La Romana International Airport (LRM) is five minutes from Casa de Campo and caters to private jet service. Casa de Campo will make arrangements for shuttles to and from all airports with prior notice.
