QUECHEE, Vermont – There’s good news to report from the Green Mountain State as the golf season of 2026 winds down!
The New England PGA has reached an agreement with the Quechee Club confirming that New England’s top PGA Professionals will return to one of Vermont’s most treasured courses for the playing of the 107th New England PGA Section Championship. The tournament will return to the Quechee, which is a 36-hole property, for all three rounds starting Monday September 7 -9, 2027.
The Quechee Club is located in the foothills of the Ottauquechee River Valley offering two Championship golf courses: the Highland Course and the Lakeland Course. The Highland Course is known for its challenging layout and stunning views of the Green Mountains while the Lakeland Course is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Ottauquechee River and surrounding lakes.
“This announcement is super exciting, and we are honored to get that nod since we put it through our committees, and put it on our calendar, I think, two years ago for 2027,” said Quechee’s director of golf TJ Anthoine said. ““It’s a tremendous honor for my staff and our club to host the Section Championship here in Vermont. Quechee has a rich history as the longtime venue for the New England Open, and we’re excited to bring Championship golf back to our community.”
The top finishers at Quechee will advance to the PGA National Championship, where the top 20 players then advance to the second major of the PGA Tour season – the PGA Championship.
“This event is a stepping stone and starting point for guys getting some national recognition and a bigger stage to play on,” Anthoine added. “We want to welcome everybody to Vermont, have the Vermont feel, that Vermont touch, and really show off this beautiful property. The community up here is tight-knit and we’re thrilled to welcome everybody from all over New England to the Quechee Club.”
The tournament often splits between two venues, but because Quechee has two 18-hole courses, all the action will be there, and put the Green Mountain State on center stage.
“The New England PGA is committed to securing some of the finest facilities to host our events, and the next three years we have done just that,” said NEPGA Executive Director, Michael Higgins. “The tournament committee’s goal is to schedule out our major championships three to five years in advance to allow for our PGA Professionals to plan and get as excited as our staff,” he continued. “We are very fortunate to be able to move our Championship around the Section throughout our five amazing states, and I can not thank our host PGA Professionals enough for helping us put this terrific lineup together”.
After bouncing back from damage sustained during Irene in 2011, and the floods in 2023, the Quechee Club is ready and eager to welcome in some of our region’s best golfer’s September 7-9, 2027!
