PALM HARBOR, Florida – It was raining confetti at Innisbrook Resort on Monday morning February 24. After a lengthy partnership with the PGA Tour, Innisbrook and its Copperhead Golf Course, title sponsor Valspar announced it is extending its sponsorship for five more years.
“Our relationship with this tournament has been a win-win,” said Brett White, SVP Marketing Center of Excellence, Sherwin Williams. “So much so that I am proud to announce that we have extended our sponsorship for five more years.”
That was followed by a standing ovation and confetti poppers that filled the air. It means that “the most colorful PGA Tour tournament in the world” will continue to be played at Innisbrook Resort through the year 2030.

A Media Day crowd including Tournament Director, Tracy West, Innisbrook Managing Director Bobby Barnes and defending Valspar Champion Peter Malanati all expressed their appreciation and excitement of the announcement.
“What amazing news,” said Malanati via a zoom call. “I’m beyond thrilled and so thankful. Thank you Valspar and thank you to the (Tampa Bay) community for embracing the event. It’s such great news.”
Malanati will defend his title March 20-23 against a field that will include Tommy Fleetwood, Kevin Kisner, Cameron Young, Corey Connors and Justin Thomas. They will be playing the event that has been awarded as “The most fan friendly tournament on the PGA Tour.”
“As the final event of the PGA TOUR’s Florida Swing, the Valspar Championship sits in a pivotal spot on the golf calendar as players and fans gear up for the heart of our FedExCup Season,” said PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan in a statement. “Our friends at Valspar understand the importance this event carries in the Sunshine State and have embraced that role through unique activations including the Valspar Be Bright mural initiative and the Valspar Caddie Hat Program. The PGA TOUR is proud to continue building upon these enhancements with Valspar as we take our relationship into the next decade.”
