NAPLES, Florida – Tiburon Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples is set to host the PGA Tour Champions’ Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, April 12-16.
The Chubb Classic marks the third professional event the Troon Prive’ managed club has hosted in five months following last December’s QBE Shootout hosted by Tiburon’s golf designer, Greg Norman, and the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Tour Championship. Tiburon is the only golf facility in the country to host three professional championships in less than a one-year span.
Unlike the QBE Shootout and CME Championship which were played on the club’s Gold Course, the Chubb Classic will be contested on Tiburon’s Black Course. Many of the game’s legends will be competing for the $1.6 million purse including former winners Bernard Langer, Fred Couples, Retief Goosen and Mike Weir, as well as World Golf Hall of Fame and Team Troom member Colin Montgomerie.
“Tiburon is proud to host three professional events in Naples,” said Tiburon Golf Club General Manager Kevin DeDonato, PGA. “This could not have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication of our entire team. Putting our facility on the national stage three times in five months is quite an honor and could not have happened without the great support of our partners at Troon, Wasserman, Eiger, Ritz-Carlton and Florida’s Paradise Coast. We look forward to a wonderful tournament with the PGA Tour Champions and are excited to once again showcase Naples and our outstanding golf club.
Tiburon is consistently rated among the top golf resorts in Florida by both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.
