BOSTON, Mass – When you hear the term “iconic New England golf course” the selection of qualifying properties narrows to about a half-dozen including the usual suspects – The Country Club, Myopia Hunt Club, Pleasant Valley, Hyannisport Club, Mt. Washington, Sugarloaf and Newport Country Club.
Golf historians and aficionados may haggle over a few others such as Kittansett Club, Salem and Farm Neck but the unanimous choice is an impressive stretch of oceanfront real estate overlooking Cape Cod Bay affectionately known for six decades as Club at New Seabury.

With two championship courses, Ocean and Dunes, New Seabury provides members and guests with the ultimate Cape Cod golf experience. Recently renovated by Bruce Hepner, the two William Mitchell courses are designed to accommodate golfers of all skill levels, catering to well-heeled clientele requiring a non-refundable initiation fee of $90,000 for new members.
The one-of-a-kind, 1,500-acre oceanfront property – once upon a time called “Pebble Beach of the East” – was purchased in 1998 by New Seabury Properties LLC, an affiliate of billionaire Carl Icahn. Last May Icahn listed the property For Sale with Leisure Investment Properties Group, a recognized industry leader in the sale of golf courses, marina, resort and master-planned community. https://newengland.golf/for-sale-club-at-new-seabury/

Steve Ekovich is Executive Managing Director & Partner & Broker-in-Charge of the Tampa, Florida-based Leisure Investment Properties Group, which their website claims to have sold over 200 leisure assets since 2011, and underwritten or sold $3.2 billion of golf courses, resorts, marinas, and master-planned communities.
In an email exchange Ekovich said, “If you can get back to us in two weeks and we may have some news.”

WHO IS CONCERT GOLF PARTNERS?
Concert Golf Partners is a company founded in 2011 by Peter Nanula, former Founder and CEO of Arnold Palmer Golf Management, and Susan Dunnavant, Co-Founder and COO that own 38 upscale private golf and country clubs nationwide, including Blue Hill Country Club, located in Canton (MA) just outside Boston, purchased in 2015 after the club had fallen into financial ruin.

In the last two years Concert Golf has been on a buying spree with recent acquisitions being Penn Oaks Golf Club (near Philadelphia); The Georgia Club (near Athens, Ga.); Golf Club of the Everglades (Naples, Fla.); TPC Jasna Polana (Princeton, N.J.); and The Club at Pasadera (Monterey, Calif.)
According to two members at Blue Hill Country Club the transaction is moving forward with the due diligence period expiring soon and to the delight of them knowing a reciprocal agreement to play golf at a sister-course like New Seabury is probable. Blue Hill is the only New England club in the Concert Golf portfolio.
The Concert Golf Partners media representative declined to comment on the pending acquisition of Club of New Seabury.
