The course measures 7,213 yards from the back tees with numerous tee boxes available for every skill level. Golfers are always delighted to see the GPS system in the golf carts, providing accurate distance to the pin and other obstacles on the course. The 18-hole, par-72 championship course is ready to challenge every golfer of any handicap.

There is a state-of-the-art practice facility, that features a 70,000-square-feet driving range complete with chipping greens, practice bunker and the largest putting green in Orlando. Also included are an on-site clubhouse restaurant, and a 1,600 square foot pro shop, stocked with anything you may need throughout your round. Along with an in-cart GPS, which provides golfers with all the information they need to know, the course is also marked with 150-yard stakes that are measured to the center of the greens. Tee areas have 5 sets of tees that play to distances measuring 7,213 yards, 6,600 yards, 6,213 yards, 5,582 yards and 4,945 yards.

The course was in excellent shape from tee to green. In total there are over 50 sand traps and waste bunkers, with water in play on 13 of the 18 holes. The fairways at Shingle Creek provide generous landing areas but players will find that undulating fairways and strategically place mounding makes most holes play longer than expected. The greens will test both your accuracy and patience with challenging hole locations, plenty of subtle breaks, and above average speed.

Shingle Creek will present golfers with a number of unique challenges. The biggest challenge is choosing the right tee box to play from. Don’t let the yardage on the scorecard fool you, these holes play longer. Your drives will have less roll after landing. The greens and fringes are lightning fast and cause problems with approach shots and some tee shots will require both accuracy and distance to reach your intended target.

The signature hole at Shingle Creek Golf Club is the 220-yard par 3 17th hole. With water lining the entire right side, players will have to hit a bold tee shot to an undulating green to walk away with a par.

Shingle Creek Golf Course is impressive and I look forward to playing it again soon. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet staff members who were both friendly and informative, play on a well-manicured and designed golf course, and have the chance to enjoy the beauty of the natural world surrounding the course.
