PGA Tour’s Cadillac Championship Tees Off At Trump Doral April 30

The PGA Tour heads to Trump National Doral this week for the Cadillac Championship and World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite.

DORAL, Florida – The PGA Tour makes a long-awaited return to the Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, for the 2026 Cadillac Championship, a signature event featuring a $20 million purse, 72-player field and no cut.

Doral hosted a PGA Tour event annually from 1962 to 2016, typically in late February or early March. For the past three years Trump National Doral has hosted a LIV Golf Tour event. Notably, though, the tournament is starting fresh. It will not carry the tournament history of previous PGA TOUR events contested at Doral. Though the sponsor is familiar.

The PGA Tour’s return to Trump National Doral will mark the 56th playing of a TOUR event at the club – rejuvenating one of the longest-standing relationships in professional golf.

Sandwiched in a hectic part of the PGA TOUR schedule, 17 of the top 25 in the OWGR will compete in the inaugural Cadillac Championship. It’s the fifth of eight Signature Events on the TOUR schedule this season.

Cadillac has a long history with professional golf and the PGA TOUR, including at Doral. In 2010, the company signed on as umbrella sponsor of the World Golf Championships series and later became title sponsor of the WGC-Cadillac Championship, an elite invitational event contested at Trump National Doral from 2011-2016.

Cameron Young has finished in the top 10 six times over his last ten appearances, including victory at The Players Championship March 22.

“We are pleased to welcome back Cadillac, a world-class brand whose partnership with the PGA TOUR is synonymous with Trump National Doral, a legacy venue on our schedule,” said PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp in a statement. “We appreciate the support of Cadillac as we bring a new era of the PGA TOUR to our fans in Miami.”

The field includes World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, reigning FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood and Adam Scott, who won the 2016 WGC Cadillac Championship, the last time the Tour held an event at Doral. Other notable players set to compete at the Blue Monster include seven of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking: Cameron Young (No. 4), Justin Rose (No. 5), Collin Morikawa (No. 6), Russell Henley (No. 8) and J.J. Spaun (No. 10).

Indications are strong that President Trump will make an appearance sometime this weekend during the Cadillac Championship.

There’s several notable omissions from the field, starting with Masters champion Rory McIlroy. It’s the second straight signature event he’s skipped. World No. 3 Matt Fitzpatrick, is skipping the tournament after winning the RBC Heritage on April and then the Zurich Classic with brother Alex on April 26. Ludvig Aberg, Robert MacIntyre and Xander Schauffele are not in the field while newly minted PGA Tour former LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka, is listed as first alternate.

President Trump indicated last week in a comment on his Truth Social platform that he might attend although as of Monday afternoon, neither Trump nor the Tour has announced whether the president will attend the tournament this weekend. However, Trump is expected to return to his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, this weekend, according to the Palm Beach Post. The club sits about 75 miles northeast of Trump National Doral, so a trip to the tournament wouldn’t be a complete shock. He attended a LIV Golf tournament there in 2024.
