NEPGA Joey Coakley Memorial Pro-Am Results

The 50th Joey Coakley Pro-Am, held August 13 at Charles River CC and Woodland GC, has raised over $2.6 million to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Joey Coakley Memorial Pro-Am, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2018, has grown to include close to 300 participants playing on two of the premier private courses in Massachusetts: Charles River Country Club and Woodland Golf Club. As an added benefit, each group of three amateurs has the opportunity to test their skills in 18 holes of golf against an NEPGA professional. The Coakley has raised over $2.6 million to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s mission, and is considered the “Granddaddy” of the Foundation’s golf series. This is not only the 50th Anniversary of The Coakley, but will also be the last year for this tournament. We hope you will join us to celebrate fifty years of a great event that has done so much in support of CFF’s mission.

Joseph “Joey” Coakley, 1960-1975 – Joey Coakley is remembered as a witty, fun-loving young man who brought sunshine with him as he entered any room. His good disposition and sense of humor is a memory shared by both family and friends. Joey, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth, dealt with the trials of this disease on a daily basis with quiet strength and courage. Joey was never one to complain or feel sorry for himself, rather the prevailing memory of Joey was his ability to find humor in any situation. Tragically, Joey lost his battle against CF in 1975 after a short 15 years on this earth.
