MASSACHUSETTS NATIVE SELECTED TO USA SOLHEIM CUP TEAM FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE TIME
NORTON, Massachusetts – If you want to experience living proof that the American dream is still alive, then you must attend the 2026 FM Championship this week at the Boston TPC course in Norton, Mass.
The top women golfers in the world are returning to a tournament that has become a fan favorite for golfers and local sports fans. And one of the most popular golfers is Megan Khang.
During the height of the Vietnam War, Megan’s parents escaped from Laos, bound for America and a new life. They eventually settled in Rockland, Mass where her mom became a teacher and her father worked as a mechanic. But her dad saw something special in her and at the age of five introduced her to the great game of golf.
Meghan’s talent developed quickly and at the age of 14, she qualified for the US Open. She continued to excel at golf and became eligible to join the LPGA two years later. She quickly made her mark as one of the top golfers in the world.
Now you can see Megan, who is the prime of her career, play this week at the FM Championship in Norton with first round Thursday August 27. The tournamenthas become a favorite of the LPGA and is a great venue to see the best of the LPGA Tour. Last year the players voted FM Championship ‘Tournament of the Year.’
One of the most competitive golf events is the Ryder Cup where the top golfers from the USA and Europe compete to win a demanding team event. The lady’s version is an equally demanding competition and is also held every two years. It is the Solheim Cup, named after Karsten Solheim, inventor of PING golf clubs. Only the best of the best are selected for this honor, and that includes Meghan who has made the team 5 consecutive times.
Khang will be competing in her fifth Solheim Cup, having appeared in each of the last four editions of the biennial team competition. The veteran has an overall record of 7-3-3 in the 13 matches she has played and was one of four players to go undefeated at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in 2024. Notably, Khang is 7-0-1 over her last eight Solheim Cup matches, dating back to her singles victory over Sophia Popov in 2021 at Inverness in Toledo, Ohio.

The players that qualified through the U.S. Solheim Cup points standings are Nelly Korda, Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin and Allisen Corpuz. The players that qualified through the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are Andrea Lee and Alison Lee.
The U.S. Team will head to the Netherlands in two weeks’ time for the 20th edition of the Solheim Cup at Bernardus.
Over her last two seasons, Megan Khang has recorded 12 top-25 finishes, the most recent of which came at the 2026 Mizuho Americas Open (T12). It has been a rough 2026 for Khang so far, playing in 17 events she has only made 9 cuts with zero top 10s.
When you attend the FM Championship be sure to spend time following some other of the ladies like World No. 1 Nelly Korda, World No. 2 Jeeno Thitkul and defending champion Miranda Wang. The tournament starts Thursday August 27 and runs through Sunday August 30 at historic TPC Boston, home to 17 PGA Tour events since 2004.
