The Ridge Club, an 18-hole golf course with 40,000 sq. ft. clubhouse located in a gated, golf community on Cape Cod, was purchased by ClubCorp on November 27, 2018 for $3,825,000 million.

SANDWICH, Mass – According to real estate records at the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds, The Ridge Club, an 18-hole Robert Von Hagge-designed golf course located in a family-oriented gated, golf community in Sandwich, Massachusetts was sold on November 27, 2018 to ClubCorp for $3.825,000 million.

ClubCorp is a privately-held corporation based in Dallas, Texas and is the largest owner and operator of private golf and country clubs in the country. It owns or operates more than 200 golf and country clubs and business, sports and alumni clubs worldwide. Located in 26 states, the District of Columbia and two foreign countries, the company and its clubs have more than 430,000 members and employ around 20,000 employees.

The signature hole at The Ridge Club is the par 3, 17th hole that features an island green.

Sandwich, located on Cape Cod Bay, was established in 1639 and is Cape Cod’s oldest town. This purchase is ClubCorp’s first course in the area and third in Massachusetts. It also operates Boston College Club, a city club in Boston, and Ipswich Country Club in Ipswich, about 85 miles north of Sandwich. The deal is part of a strategy to broaden the ClubCorp footprint, offering members reciprocal play at 300 clubs through the ClubCorp Network.

The Ridge Club is a remarkable par 71, 18-hole layout with amenities that include a 40,000-square-foot traditional Cape Cod-style clubhouse offering upscale and casual dining, cobble-stone patio, two tennis courts and a swimming complex.

A private club membership at The Ridge Club includes access to 18 championship holes of golf, as well as swimming, tennis and other amenities.

Real estate records show the golf course was originally owned by Atlantic Golf Properties when it opened in 2003.

Atlantic Golf Properties sold the property on February 23, 2012 for $3 million to an investment group headed by former Boston Bruin Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr, who owns a home across from the clubhouse on Country Club Road. The town of Sandwich has an assessment value of $3,645,000 and the taxes are about $52,000.
