Country Club of New Seabury hosted the New England PGA's first day of Cape Week with the winning team from Burlington Country Club led by pro David Jankowski firing a winning score of 13-under par.

MASHPEE, Mass. – The 2020 edition of the New England PGA’s Cape Week teed off October 14 at the Country Club of New Seabury where the Burlington Country Club team led by David Jankowski, won at 13-under par.

Competing in the two-best-ball-of-four format, Jankowski and amateur partners Brad Harden, Tommy Biesmeyer and Greg Harden were 6-under at the turn and 7-under on the back-nine to secure a two-stroke win. The McGolf Driving Range team of pro John Geraci, Mike Power, Jim Feeney and Stephen Duffy finished second at 11-under par. Brett Smestad, of Rochester CC with amateurs Troy Joncas, Stacy Levesque and Mike Mahan, finished third at 10-under.

Four players tied for low-professional honors at 1-over par 73, including host professional Jim Clay, Jeff Martin, (Wollaston GC), Todd Cook, (Milton Hoosic Club) and Jankowski. Geraci made the day’s only eagle, a three on the 446-yard par-5 fifth hole.

The wildly popular week-long stretch of New England PGA Pro-Ams began a day late after Tuesday’s event, also scheduled for New Seabury, was rained out. The fun continues this week at Cape Cod National and wraps up October 16 at the Wianno Club.
