64th Northeast Amateur Invitational June 24-27

The Northeast Amateur Invitational returns to Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island, June 24–27, marking the 64th edition, widely regarded as a "major" of amateur golf.

RUMFORD, Rhode Island – Last week the U.S. Open golf championship was held at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on Long Island, New York. If you want to see the top golfers in the world, tickets online currently cost hundreds of dollars and parking is also very expensive.

But if you live in southern New England, you can see the top amateur golfers in the world for free. And parking is free.

The 64th Northeast Amateur Invitational is being held from June 24th to June 27 at the Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island. Wannamoisett is a challenging golf course designed by the legendary Donald Ross. It is a wonderful course to stroll the fairways and see the best amateurs who received an invitation to the prestigious tournament.

Back in the day when they were still amateurs, Ben Crenshaw, Luke Donald, Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa, some of the top PGA Tour players, won the Northeast Amateur Championship. Now you can see some of the top amateur players in the world starting Wednesday June 22.

U.S Amateur Champion Mason Howell will be teeing it up this week. Along with Tyler Watts, who earned a spot on the PGA Bermuda Championship and will be playing at Wannamoisett. This year, Auburn won the NCAA championship for 2026, and 7 of the top 10 players will be playing at Wannamoisett.

Some of the best players in the world have played in the Northeast Amateur, including Scottie Scheffler who played four times but never won. Now another player has demonstrated extraordinary talent on the links. Giuseppe Puebla, of West Palm Beach has accepted an invitation to play in the 2026 championship. Giuseppe is only 17 years old and has qualified to play in the U.S. Open this week.
