Many past winners of the Northeast Amateur have gone onto great success in professional golf.

The 2024 winner Anthony Delisanti is returning to try to defend his title. The elite field of amateurs includes Ryan Abuan of Temecula, California, and Ryan Downes of Longmeadow, Massachusetts who will be showcasing their talent. Last year Delisanti and Bryan Lee battled each other in a 5-hole playoff with Delisanti clinching the title.

The Northeast Amateur has drawn a number of players who have gone on to big-time PGA Tour careers. The list of players who have competed reads like a who’s who in golf: Ben Crenshaw, Hal Sutton, Nick Dunlap, Peter Uhlein, Scottie Scheffler, Jay Siegal, Allen Doyle and former winners who’s names are engraved on the hallowed walls of Wannamoisett Country Club.

Anthony Delisanti won the 2024 Northeast Amateur edging Bryan Lee on the fifth hole of a playoff at Wannamoisett Country Club June 22.

U.S Amateur runner-up Noah Kent and John Daly II will also be teeing it up. An invitation has been extended to Charlie Woods. As of yet the tournament has not heard back from the Woods family. If Charlie Woods accepts the invitation, it will surely attract a large gallery to see Charlie follow in the footsteps of his dad, Tiger.

So, check your schedule and make plans to visit Wannamoisett Country Club to see some of the future stars of PGA Tour. And the best thing is that there is no admission charge to the tournament. I hope to see you there!
