Tour Edge HL3 Hybrids Offer Expanded Sweet Spot

David Glod founded Tour Edge in 1986 with a focus on offering golfers high quality and technologically advanced golf products that are cutting edge and affordable, and today the company is a top-10 manufacturer in every club category.

BOSTON, Mass. – Since Tour Edge, an American owned company headquartered in Chicago, launched their new line of Hot Launch 3 Hybrids in January three really good things are happening: expanded brand awareness, market share growth and significantly improved golf games for those players making the switch.

Tour Edge is one of the game’s “hottest” golf companies and HL3 is the third release in the award-winning Hot Launch series from Tour Edge founder and master club designer, David Glod.

In one of the most successful golf club launches in years, Tour Edge’s HL3 features a complete lineup from driver to wedge, all designed to fill a niche as the best pound-for-pound technology and performance at a mid-range price point.

Tour Edge hybrids and iron-woods have set high standards as industry pioneers in hybrid club advancements and the Tour Edge Research & Development team continues to set-the-pace for future innovation. The new clubs come in four lofts, designed to replace standard three to six irons, featuring a 450 stainless steel head with a redesigned face that is thinner for a greater spring-like effect and added distance. The shallow face/high toe design produces an expanded sweet spot for an incredibly easy to launch hybrid.

Tour Edge’s newest product – the Hot Launch 3 Hydrids – is the third release in its award-wiining Hot Launch series and has been getting rave reviews.

“When we tested HL3 internally, and with independent robotic testing, we found that the performance is extremely close or better than clubs that are priced two to three times more,” said John Craig, Executive Vice President of Tour Edge. “To be able to offer top-tier performance at a fraction of the cost is a major leg up in an industry that is more used to seeing prices going up rather than coming down. With HL3 you can get the best of both worlds: leading edge performance and a retail price that won’t break the bank.”

HL3 technology delivers results in an area that amateur golfers need most – forgiveness. A forged maraging steel shallow face combined with Variable Face Thickness technology provides more contact points on the face that provide better off-center hit distance. The Power Channel on the sole behind the face is designed to deliver amplified ball speed, less spin and added forgiveness on shots struck low on the face.

“Our HL3 line has taken a major step forward in terms of looks and performance over Hot Launch 2 and that was a product that we saw more than double in revenue,” said Tour Edge Founder David Glod. “HL3 has becomwe the driving force of growth for Tour Edge and that all comes down to it being the best available in the custom fitting market. That is why we have decided to make a significant financial commitment to advertise HL3 heavily on the Golf Channel and elsewhere with the message of “GET FIT. SPEND LESS. PLAY BETTER.”

The Hot Launch series is designed specifically to take advantage of the emerging growth segment of customization within the equipment market and until the launch of Hot Launch by Tour Edge, the value segment of this market has been largely under-serviced. Tour Edge plans to have up to 1,000 custom fitting centers across the country that will feature the new mobile HL3 custom fitting bag and their unprecedented 48-hour guaranteed delivery on custom fit orders.

“We are aggressively marketing the message that every golfer should be getting custom fit, and that it is especially true for high handicap players who have the most to gain by getting fit,” said Tour Edge Vice President Jon Claffey. “You don’t need to spend your kid’s college tuition to get into a high performance, high technology game improving set of golf clubs. Our goal is to open the flood gates on custom fitting and HL3 has proven to be the perfect product to accomplish this goal with its advanced technology, top-tier performance and amazing price structure.”

Tour Edge has introduced its Hot Launch HL-J line of junior golf club sets designed and color coordinated for five different age groups and every set comes in a lightweight dual-strap stand bag for under $200.

Recently, for junior players, ages 3 to 14, Tour Edge has introduced its Hot Launch HL-J line of junior golf club sets specifically designed and color coordinated for five different age groups.

The HL3 Hybrid comes in 19, 22, 25 and 28 degree lofts. All lofts are available in right and left-handed models. The stock shaft for the hybrids is a UST Mamiya designed exclusively for the HL3 line which is available in Ladies, A-flex, regular, stiff shafts ranging from 48 to 60 grams. The cost is $119.99.
