ORLANDO, Florida – Cobra Golf has a history of golf club innovation such as using 3D metal printing starting in 2020 with putters and the 3DP Tour Irons last year and now there are two new models, the 3DP MB (muscle back) and the 3DP X (super game-improvement).

Cobra hits another homerun with the two new metal-printing models following up on the success of the 3DP Tour from last year. Metal printing offers some real advantages in irons centered around the precision of a complex design including a lattice inside the head that can only be accomplished using that process.

Using the Direct Metal Laser Sintering or DMLS process intricate designs are possible, ones forging nor casting cannot produce.

Cobra fans will like to know the 3DP MB shaping is based on the prototype MB clubhead made for PGA Tour star Max Homa, which has slightly more offset and a thinner topline than their KING MB. The X model is similar in size and shape to Cobra’s KING TEC X iron, but the new design produces more forgiveness than their DS-ADAPT MAX super game improvement irons.

“We’re excited to offer these two new innovative iron models that build on the tremendous success of our 3DP Tour irons,” said Ryan Roach, Director of Innovation at COBRA PUMA GOLF. “With the addition of the MB and X, we now have a 3D-printed model that can fit the vast majority of players, allowing just about any golfer to benefit from the performance advantages of 3D printing technology.”
