I have written numerous times about the charitable nature of golf. From the top-earning pros on the PGA Tour, to those of us who play in the local scrambles, golfers collectively out-give all other sports combined when it comes to charity. It is my favorite aspect of my favorite pastime.
Fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock
I know firsthand the positive impact that ChaD can have on a family. CHaD helps hundreds of local families each and every year, and they are only able to do so with the help and generous outpouring of charitable donations. Without such support, many necessary treatments and medicines would not be available to the children who desperately need them.
My son Grayson was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 2, and has been a patient at ChaD for the last year now. As the tears are welling up in my eyes while I write this, I am so indescribably thankful for all of the kind-hearted and loving care that my son receives from the amazing staff there. The counseling, advice, and educational discussions that my wife and I have gotten has been a blessing as well. Quite frankly, I don’t want to think of what our life would be like without CHaD.
When it came time to choose which local charity NHgolfer would donate to, it really was a no-brainer. It is truly an honor to be able to give back to such an amazing organization that has done so much for the kids in our local communities, including my own son.
So…..what’s a Golf-a-thon you might ask?
Much like the way a walk-a-thon works, 2 of us from NHgolfer are going to see how many holes we can golf in 1 day! We are setting out with a goal of 54 holes, which equates to 3 full rounds!
Where do you come in?
We need people like yourself to sponsor us for the golf-a-thon. You can sponsor an amount such as $1 or $2 per hole, or with a flat donation amount like $10, $25 or more!
For full details and information on how you can help by making a donation of any amount, please visit www.NHgolfer.com
THANK YOU!!!
