Rory McIlroy Debuts at CVS Charity Classic June 25

WOONSOCKET, RHODE ISLAND – Some of the biggest names in golf are slated to appear at Rhode Island Country Club as the CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series returns June 21 – 25.

The one-day professional tournament scheduled Monday June 25, celebrating its twentieth year, will feature six teams, each comprised of one player from the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour.

The CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series, which has donated more than $21 million dollars to area non-profits since 1999, will also include:

Keegan Bradley, Brooke Henderson and tournament co-host Billy Andrade pulled out a win at the 2017 CVS Health Charity Classic with two birdies on the last hole. The three-person team, comprised of one player from the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours, became the first winners of the CVS Health Charity Classic in its new format.

Crave Rhode Island – Kicking off the 2018 event series, this two-day, family-friendly culinary celebration features more than 100 of Rhode Island’s finest restaurants and more than 150 beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverage profiles. The food festival will return to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in downtown Providence on June 21 and 22. Enjoy sample tastings from: Matunuck Oyster Bar, Tallulah’s Taqueria, Waffle, Newport Vineyards, Narragansett Beer and many more. All proceeds from the event will support charitable organizations across Southern New England. Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am & Community Day – The CVS Health Charity Classic has once again partnered up with New England sports teams to bring celebrity athletes to the Charity Classic. The Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox will all be represented at the second annual Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am on Sunday, June 24 at the Rhode Island Country Club. You can expect to see the likes of Troy Brown from the New England Patriots and Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox. Admission to this event is free.

Single day tickets for the 2018 CVS Health Charity Classic are now on sale at ticketmaster.com/CharityClassic for $20 each. Children 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult. The CVS Health Charity Classic is honoring veterans by offering complimentary admission to Rhode Island Country Club for the golf tournament for all active, reserve and retired Military Service Members and their dependents. Veterans simply present a valid Common Access Card or Retired Military Card at the gate. First responders and their families also receive free admission with a valid ID.
