Connecticut Golf Show Is Here March 22 – 24

The Connecticut Golf Show, a celebration of New England's vibrant golf community, swings into Hartford Convention Center March 22 - 24, offering great values on products and services, thousands of dollars in prizes and giveaways, and interactive events for golf enthusiasts.

HARTFORD, Conn. – Attention Golf Aficionados. Have you reached your breaking point of watching televised golf?

In the dead of winter watching re-runs of CaddyShack, Tin Cup & Happy Gilmore might be an interesting way to past the time, but enough already. Heck, I have a friend who knows almost every line in CaddyShack, and even when he repeats the same lines to me over & over, it’s always hilarious.

What isn’t so funny, though, is watching Rory McIlroy win The Player’s Championship last weekend at TPC Sawgrass, and knowing I can’t go out and hit balls or play a quick 18, because it’s March and too damn cold outside.

Well this weekend, that all changes because the annual Connecticut Golf Show comes to Hartford Convention Center Friday March 22, Saturday March 23 and Sunday March 24.

Are you ready to rumble? Or at least ready to hit some bloody golf balls. Unless you’ve traveled to a warmer climate there hasn’t been any golf in these parts for months. The calendar says spring, but the weather is still bogus.

The annual Connecticut Golf Show is the unofficial start of the golf season and this weekend more than 110 exhibitors, most of the top club manufacturers, many name-brand gear and apparel companies, product inventors, golf courses, destination resorts and a wide selection of interesting vendors are here. All will be creating a happy, fun environment, and certainly the place to visit if you like golf. There will even be opportunities for a quick lesson from local pros.

David Brinker is the President of Mid-America Golfing Events and 10-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Finalist who won the 2012 RE/MAX World Long Drive title (Legends Division) and has won multiple additional U.S. and international long-drive championships will be on the Main Stage Friday afternoon March 22.

Here’s what to expect:

Chris Cote’s Golf Shop, a primary sponsor with on-site driving range, will let you try the latest driver’s, including the Callaway Epic Flash, which some are calling the best driver ever made.

Short Game Challenge, which lets you try out your short game by chipping to win rounds of golf, golf balls and other prizes and if you make a hole-in-one you take home the grand prize.

Long Drive Challenge will let you try out a state-of-the-art simulator to win rounds of golf with separate divisions for men, women and seniors, everyone has a chance to win.

Putting Challenge where every successful putter wins a round of golf and an entry in Sunday’s Putting Championship, where putters will compete to win a stay-and-play package.

GOLFTEC Lesson Zone where you enter the Lesson Zone and get your swing analyzed by a certified teaching professional.

Wellness Zone where you learn lots of good stuff about staying healthy and let the golf doctors help fix your pain and maximize your potential for a healthy year ahead.

19th Hole where do I have to explain what goes on here? Take a breather & visit the Michelob Ultra 19th Hole to grab a cold beverage and watch golf, football, basketball and other sports on big-screen TVs.

Main Stage which is a hub of activity throughout the weekend featuring interactive swing seminars from local pros, new product demos, interviews with golf industry experts, junior golf presentations and meet David Brinker, World Long Drive Champion who will help you add distance to your game!
